"Tony was stabbed saving the life of a work colleague...my world changed in that

moment forever." - Allen Sawkins

Allen Sawkins' partner, Tony McNaughton, was murdered in January 2000 in downtown Vancouver. Tony was at work when a female co-worker's estranged husband attempted to attack her with a knife. Tony stopped him but was stabbed and died.

Out of the extraordinary loss of his partner, Allen began advocating for victims of domestic violence, and with WorkSafeBC has helped develop a toolkit for addressing domestic violence in the workplace. He also produced a CD to raise funds for the Tony McNaughton Memorial Fund at the Canadian Women's Foundation.
